We are thrilled to have Jim Ryun, a former U.S. congressman, three time Olympian and World Record holder, speak at an intimate dessert benefit for Bridgemont. Jim is widely recognized as one of world's greatest track and field athletes. As a junior in high school he became the first high school athlete to break the 4 minute mile, a feat for which ESPN recently rated him as the #1 high school athlete of all time, beating out athletes such as Tiger Woods and LeBron James. Following his legendary running career, Jim served as a U.S. Congressman for 10 years, representing his home district in Kansas. Jim has also co-authored three books with his two sons based on the importance of faith in his life and the lives of other historical figures. For over 35 years, Jim and his family have hosted the Jim Ryun Running Camps (JRRC), a Christian ministry geared toward developing the total runner - physically, mentally and spiritually. Over the years, JRRC has helped in the development of Olympians such as America's top marathoner Ryan Hall.
Dessert posponed I'm sorry to announce that the dessert with Jim Ryun will need to be postponed to another date. Most have responded that other plans were already in place. We realize this was a last minute possibility and Jim is still interested in doing something. Next time we will have much more lead time. Thanks for your support of Bridgemont. We will keep you posted.
